All proceeds collected that night will be donated to the fountain house, which aims to provide healthcare for those with mental illness. The Fountain House has been a hub of protection and aid for the people of New York since its establishment in 1948. When the building was purchased on West 47th Street, one single fountain stood within the garden area of the building, thus giving it the name the Fountain House.
Since then, the Fountain house has been able to provide a variety of assistance to mental illness patients. Some of these include providing them with training in order for people to be able to function in a normal workplace. Another aid provided within the fountain house is temporary housing. Since many of those suffering from mental issues often lose their jobs because of crippling anxiety, the fountain House often serves as a safe place where they are able to build their lives again and stay out of trouble. Recently, The Fountain House made headlines for their partnership with the World Health Organization. In 2018, the two organizations were able to work together to present the first ever mental health conference titled Healthier Longer Lives for People with Serious Mental Illness. This is among the worst steps to bring the issue of mental illness to the public and remove the negative stigmas attached to it.
