PHILADELPHIA EAGLES SET TO INTERVIEW FORMER RIVAL HEAD COACH FOR OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR JOB

The Philadelphia Eagles are prepared to interview fired New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll for the team's vacant offensive coordinator position, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Daboll was fired midway through his fourth season with the team as the Giants sank to just 2-8 in early November. New York offensive coordinator Mike Kafka was named as the interim replacement, but faired little better as the Giants finished 4-13 on the season. Kafka has already interviewed for the Eagles' offensive coordinator position, according to ESPN.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Eagles spokespeople for conformation.

Philadelphia fired embattled offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after the defending-champion Eagles were knocked out of the NFL playoffs in the wild-card round by the San Francisco 49ers.

Daboll was just 20-40-1 with the Giants – his first head-coaching position in the NFL. He did manage to take the Giants to the playoffs in his first season, winning Coach of the Year along the way, but has since gone just 11-33.

He was the second coach to be fired during the 2025 season. Tennessee let Brian Callahan go after the Titans got off to a 1-5 start. Now Daboll is rumored to be a candidate to replace Callahan in Nashville according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, who reported that the former Giants head coach interviewed for the same position with the Titans.

The Giants have now hired fired Baltimore Ravens coach and Super Bowl-winner John Harbaugh to replace Daboll.

Patullo has faced mounting criticism over the season in Philadelphia, where his unit in the wild-card loss to the 49ers.

The 2025 season goes down as a seismic disappointment for the franchise, almost one year after they trounced the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl LIX.

'I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator,' head coach Nick Sirianni said in a statement. 'I met with Kevin today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect.

'He has been integral to this team's success over the last five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization.

'I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career.

Patullo's dismissal came just one month after furious Philly fans launched eggs at his house following their dismal 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears.

In shocking video shared online, a group of at least three young men were captured lobbing eggs at the $1.3million property from the road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

'As coaches and players, we all know that part of our job is to handle criticism. It's perfectly acceptable to sit up here and talk about what's going on, how to fix it, what we're going to do going forward, and we know that,' Patullo said after the incident.

'But when it involves your family, obviously it crosses the line. So, that happened. At this point, we've just gotta move on. We're trying to win.'

Prior to his stint in Philadelphia, Patullo spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs.

He has also enjoyed coaching jobs at college level in the past with Texas A&M, Arizona and South Florida.
