He died trying to save his dog. According to the newspaper Le Parisien, a 41-year-old man lost his life on Tuesday, 2nd December, in Maudétour-en-Vexin (Val d’Oise), France.
The man's dog fell into a retention pond. Without hesitation, he jumped into the water to save him. A fellow hunter who was with him was unable to help.

Although the dog was saved, his owner's body was later recovered by a team of divers.
