MANILA, Philippines — A Filipina is guaranteed to wrest the 2025 WPA Women's 10-ball title.
This is after Chezka Centeno and Rubilen Amit topped separate semifinal foes to forge an all-Filipina final in Bali, Indonesia on Sunday afternoon.
Centeno and Amit were scheduled to battle for the championship at 6 p.m.
Centeno defeated Liu Shasha of China, 3-0 (sets), to advance to the championship round and put herself in a position to reclaim the title.
The 26-year-old Centeno won the 2023 edition of the tournament but lost it last year after bowing out in the semifinals.
Meanwhile, Amit denied Margarita Fefilova of Belarus, 3-1, to make the final and potentially won her third 10-ball crown.
Amit seized the 2009 and 2013 editions of the tournament.
The winner between Amit and Centeno would take a prize money of $50,000 or P2.9 million while the runner-up would bag $25,000 or P1.4 million.
Liu and Fefilova bagged $16,000 or more than P900,000 each for reaching the semifinals.
