VALIENTES' SAMUEL DEGUARA — THE TALLEST MAN IN ITALY AND MALTA — BEING EYED BY SOME PBA TEAMS

Samuel Deguara, the tallest man in both Italy and Malta, may land with a PBA team soon.

According to the 7-foot-6 Italian-Maltese big man, he's now in contact with some PBA teams for a possible stint.

He, however, didn't disclose which clubs are trying to approach him as his focus remains on his campaign with the Zamboanga Valientes in the upcoming Dubai International Basketball Championship.

"I think I’m gonna be there soon. Right now, I have some people contacting me, yes, some teams," Deguara told GMA Integrated News in an interview on Tuesday in Mandaluyong.

"But I can’t really say right now. But yes, I’m interested."

Deguara has deep knowledge about Philippine basketball and the talents the country has after having faced Gilas Pilipinas in a friendly match last year when he was still with the Taiwan Mustangs.

In fact, he also faced Zamboanga before during the 202 Asian Tournament where the hometown team reigned supreme behind import and former NBA star DeMarcus Cousins.

And if ever he gets to bring his act in the PBA, there's one match-up that Deguara is looking forward to: facing reigning eight-time MVP June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel.

"It's a good match-up, I think I already played against him before. He’s got a good jumper so you need to be careful on that," Deguara added.
