BLACKWATER TAKES ON NORTHPORT IN PRESEASON WARS

Blackwater looks to build some momentum when it clashes with NorthPort in the PBA On Tour this Friday at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.

Game time is 5 p.m.

The Bossing booked their second win in three starts last week with a 100-94 triumph against Terrafirma Dyip.

Veteran forward Troy Rosario looked every bit like his old self in that win after leading Blackwater with 20 points and five rebounds.

The 6-foot-6 forward has spent much of his time at Blackwater with a variety of injuries last season.

But now that he is recovered, Rosario hopes to use the preseason games as a way to get himself back into game shape and try to help the franchise get off to a strong start once the new season rolls on October 15.

Blackwater will tangle with a NorthPort side that thumped TNT, 99-90, behind Filipino-American guard Joshua Munzon who scored 16 points and had three steals.

Munzon is seen by coach Bonnie Tan as someone who could take the spot of ace scorer Robert Bolick.

The high-scoring Bolick recently inked a two-year deal to play for Fukushima Firebonds in the Japan B2League.

Meanwhile, Phoenix will try to get back on the winning track as it faces winless NLEX at 7:30 p.m.

The Fuel Masters saw their two-game run to start the preseason series snapped after bowing to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 103-94, last week.
