Fully focused and fueled by determination, Filipino American racer Bianca Bustamante poured her heart out into the Formula E Test in Valencia, Spain. Things didn’t go perfectly, but her relentless drive and hard work paid off with a strong P3 finish.
Representing KIRO Racing, the 20-year-old showed resilience and determination as she battled through physical and technical challenges on track.
Bustamante admitted that the day didn’t go entirely as she hoped, but she poured every ounce of effort into her performance.
“God knows that I tried,” she wrote in an Instagram post, sharing how she gave everything she had during the session.
Bustamante admitted she “drove [her] heart out” despite struggling physically, even after countless hours at the gym.
The heavy Formula E car and tight chicanes, she said, made it tough to push for a fast lap, but she kept going “till [her] arms gave out,” and it all paid off with a P3 finish in “such a competitive and experienced grid.”
The young racer, who continues to break barriers for Asian and female drivers in global motorsport, credited her success to the unrelenting dedication of her KIRO Race Co. team.
She expressed her gratitude to her crew, calling them her “chosen family.” “Honestly, allll the applause goes to my team,” she said, highlighting the “late hours in the office and long days in the sim.”
Bustamante also took a moment to thank her race engineer, Michael, and performance engineer, Can, for their patience and guidance throughout the test.
Reflecting on the bigger picture, Bustamante emphasized how vital opportunities like the Formula E Women’s Test are for advancing diversity and representation in motorsport.
“Opportunities like these are ever so vital to keep on making a step forward for this generation and the next! Thank you @fiaformulae for opening doors for us!” she wrote.
