BIG WINS FOR TMTCS STUDENTS

THE Manila Times College of Subic (TMTCS) recently honored its student achievers in a celebration of excellence in sports and journalism.

The event recognized victories the school gained from inter-school competitions such as the 2025 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) and Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).

TMTCS' football team, the Olongapo City Secondary Boys, bagged the gold medal at CLRAA 2025 — a first for the squad, which now qualifies for the Palarong Pambansa.

The team is composed of Matthew Abergas, Dreff Aguilar, Josh Año, Gian Alcantara, Tristan Alkuino, Tyron Cahilig, Zeus Cepe, Miel Daguman, Riel Del Mundo, Gian Deniega, James Fanugao, Marlew Labandelo, Owhel Labandelo, Aereil Lumapas, Prince Mendiola, Allen Pajela, Nathan Salvatus, and Mikeyl Soriano, with coaches Willie Jaypee Mendiola and Rhey Benhar Diaz.

In archery, Ceth Asiel Alcala won silver and bronze.

In journalism, Rhianne Chelsy Agner and Amber Louisse Daguman landed in the Top 10 Individual Category at RSPC 2025. Their adviser-coaches are Bienlainard Macalino, LPT; CSLI, Kezh Danielle Cometa, LPT; and Michael Cinense Jr., LPT.

This marks the school's third consecutive year of winning at the RSPC, an annual campus journalism competition.

Its aims are to demonstrate understanding of journalism through skillful execution in various platforms (print, broadcast, online); recognize the role of journalism in advocating for social consciousness and environmental awareness; promote fair and ethical use of media as tenets of responsible

journalism; foster camaraderie and enrich learning experiences through healthy and friendly competitions; and provide learners opportunities to use the skills learned in campus journalism for their future careers.

Individual categories (English and Filipino, elementary and secondary) include news writing, features, editorial, sports, copyreading and headline writing, science and technology, photojournalism, editorial cartooning, and column writing.

Group categories (English and Filipino, elementary and secondary) are radio scriptwriting and broadcasting.

At the TMTCS recognition event, President Ma. Preciosa Monica Ang, VPAA Honey Chille Tolentino, VP for Marketing Annabelle Lesaca, principal Laura Mendoza, and sports coordinator/director for operations Michael Sionzon delivered their respective messages.
