MANILA, Philippines—Filipinos will still have someone to cheer on in the East Asia Super League (EASL) despite Meralco’s exit.
Former PBA star Arvin Tolentino will still compete for the tournament’s biggest prize as a member of the Seoul SK Knights, who clinched a Finals berth with a 4-2 record in Group A.
Seoul takes on the Taoyuan Pauian Pilots in the quarterfinals for a chance to take on Alvark Tokyo (5-1), which has a bye to the next round as the Group C leader.
Tolentino has been huge for the SK Knights during the EASL regular season with averages of 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.17 assists per game.
On the other end of the bracket, the Golden Kings earned the bye after eliminating the Bolts, 88-79. They await the winner of the match between Utsunomiya Brex and the New Taipei Kings.
The EASL Finals start on March 18 in Macau, SAR.
