MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE ADMITS NOTTINGHAM FOREST HAVE STRUGGLED TO HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF COMPETING FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALIFICATION

Morgan Gibbs-White admitted Nottingham Forest had wilted under the pressure of the Champions League race with their hopes of qualifying slipping away.
Forest have spent most of the campaign in the top five but have now slumped to seventh after collecting only a point from their last three home games, the latest a damaging 2-2 draw against already-relegated Leicester.
Gibbs-White is a summer target for Manchester City but the playmaker is determined to ensure Forest end the season on a high and two wins from their final matches against West Ham and Chelsea may be enough to turn the situation around.
He said: ‘We put ourselves in the best position but the last three or four games haven’t been good enough. We’ve secured European football which is incredible but we wanted more.
‘A few games ago, our expectation was to qualify for the Champions League and it was the same for our fans. We’ve got two games to go and we have to turn it around.
‘None of us have been in this situation before so we handled it well to start with but as it's got away from us, we haven't handled it so well.
'We're new to it but we still fighting and building as a team and a club.
‘It's been a tough season, very demanding especially when we've put ourselves in the positions we have.
'I can't put a reason on it. Fatigue? Tiredness? But we can't make excuses because the fans deserve better. We can’t concede goals like we did here. It’s just frustrating.’
