ALTAS STUN CHIEFS TO EXTEND WIN STREAK TO 5

Four University of Perpetual Help spikers scored in double digits to lead the Altas to their fifth straight win in the NCAA Season 101 men's volleyball tournament at the SaN Andres Gym in Malate, Manila on Saturday.

Rookie Marc Tangon recorded a double-double of 14 points and 15 excellent receptions to lead the Las Pinas City-based squad to an impressive 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 25-23 victory over defending champion Arellano University. 

Setter Klint Mateo contributed 14 points and 24 excellent sets in 88 attempts while John Castil and Jester Bornel scored 16 and 13 points, respectively.

"Unti-unti na nilang nakukuha yung rhythm at nag-ge-gel yung team, from 0-2 or two straight losses, pero marami pa kaming dapat aralin, its long way to go pa," Altas coach Macky Carin̈o said.

Jiwen Sinuto led the Chiefs with a game-high 23 points.

Perpetual Help raised its win-Loss record to 5-7 even as Arellano U dropped to 4-2 in the tournament.
