EALA ONE WIN AWAY FROM WIMBLEDON MAIN DRAW

MANILA, Philippines - Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is just one win away from the Wimbledon main draw after defeating Tamara Zidansek of Slovenia on Wednesday.

Despite having a sluggish start at the 2nd qualifying round, Eala rallied in the next two sets and finished off Zidanšek, 1-6, 7-6, 6-3.

Should she win the next round, Eala will be the first Filipina to advance to the Wimbledon main draw.

As of this writing, her opponent could either be Tereza Martincová of the Czech Republic or Alycia Parks of the United States.
