SJ MOORE STAYING PUT AT UST

MANILA, Philippines — Contrary to previous reports on Monday, SJ Moore is staying put at UST.

A source highly knowledgeable about Moore's situation told The Manila Times that the athletic winger is not transferring to another school and is staying with the Growling Tigers.

"It's not true. They did not confirm and then reported something wrong," said the source.

In his rookie year at the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball last year, Moore registered 2.36 points and 1.36 rebounds in less than eight minutes per game.

Moore suffered a right leg injury in the Growling Tigers penultimate game last season albeit the extent is not that serious according to the same source.

UST finished with a 2-12 win-loss card last year.

The 6-foot-2 Moore was part of the UST lineup that competed at the recently-concluded FilOil Preseason Cup but was barely used.

Meanwhile, Moore's batch mate Mason Amos left Ateneo for rival school and defending champ La Salle in a move that sent shockwaves to the UAAP basketball community.

Amos practically confirmed his decision in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, bidding goodbye to the Blue Eagles nest.

"I will forever be proud to have represented the school and thankful. I love you Ateneo. It may be a goodbye but You will always have a place in my heart," wrote Amos.
