UNBEATEN LADY ALTAS WIN 5 IN A ROW

Cavite native Shaila Omipon led University of Perpetual Help System Dalta to its fifth win in as many games in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Gym in Malate, Manila on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026.

The latest victim of the league leader is Emilio Aguinaldo College, which the Las Piñas-based school defeated in straight sets, 28-26, 25-15, 26-24 in one hour and 34 minutes of play time. 

Omipon finished with 17 solid attacks and 7 digs for coach Sandy Rieta's team.

Cyrille Almeniana added 16 points on account of 13 attacks and 2 blocks. 

Setter Fianne Ariola recorded 16 excellent sets in 98 attempts while libero Joanna Denise Lozano registered 20 digs and 9 receptions for the Lady Altas. 

EAC, winless in five games, was led by Cara Dayanan, Alessandra Rasonable and Ashley Toriado who scored 10 points apiece.

The Altas Spikers, on the hand, scored their third straight win after opening the men's volleyball tournament with back-to-back losses.

They outplayed the EAC Generals in five sets, 25-16, 9-25, 23-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Perpetual Help was led by rookie Marc Tangon who scored 16 points on 12 attacks, 3 blocks and an ace. He also has 17 digs.

Jester Bornel and Khian Andres each scored 13 points while Charles Pallasa added 11 points.
