ABANDO, KOREA CHAMP LOOK TO HEAP MORE MISERY ON DEPLETED TNT IN EASL

TNT will play without its acknowledged leader when it attempts to stop the bleeding in its EASL Home and Away campaign.

The Tropang Giga left for Seoul, South Korea on Monday minus veteran point guard Jayson Castro, leaving the team without one of its best players players in the clutch when it faces the Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters on Wednesday night.

The reigning Korean Basketball League (KBL) champion which features Gilas Pilipinas stalwart Rhenz Abando and former Phoenix import Du'Vaughn Maxwell, hosts the PBA Governors Cup champions at Anyang gymnasium in the 7 p.m. match

TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa explained that the 37-year-old Castro would miss the game due to a scheduled medical appointment with doctors.

Without their long-time captain, the Tropang Giga will be hard-pressed to win against Red Boosters, who copped the EASL Champions Week title last March.

TNT has so far struggled in its bid in the regional league, losing all its three games - twice against B. League side Chiba Jets - to remain in the cellar of Group A.

The Red Boosters, on the other hand, carry a 1-0 record behind a 98-77 rout of the Taipei Fubon Braves.
