DAVE ILDEFONSO SAYS HE'S JOINING PBA ROOKIE DRAFT

DAVE Ildefonso is set to join the PBA draft.

Ildefonso himselfconfirmed the development during media day of Strong Group Athletics, giving the coming draft a prospective Top 3 pick.

Ildefonso has yet to file his application but has already decided to put his name in the PBA Rookie Draft pool after playing pro ball in Korea.

Ildefonso admitted the absence of offers following his lone season with Suwon KT Sonicboom in the Korean pro league weighed in his decision to apply for the draft.

"Alam ko kasi may deadline na ‘yung draft. Wala akong offers abroad," Ildefonso admitted.

Ildefonso is in line to reunite in the pro league – as opponents and even teammates – with his elder brother Shaun, who plays for Rain or Shine.

Dave’s father Danny Ildefonso is a two-time MVP and an assistant coach at Converge, which holds the No. 1 pick in this coming draft.

Dream reunion

"Ako, it’s been a dream of mine ever since naglalaro si Tatay sa PBA. Siyempre gusto ko rin ma-follow ‘yung footsteps at ma-try ma-achieve ‘yung na-achieve niya. Siyempre, gusto ko rin makalaban si Kuya," said Ildefonso.

"Mag-aapply ako this upcoming draft kaso hindi pa ako nakakapag-submit," he added.
