MASON AMOS HAS THIS TO SAY AFTER COMING UNDER FIRE FOR LA SALLE MOVE

MASON Amos has been the talk of the town for what has been the most controversial offseason move to date — no less than a rival school move from Ateneo to La Salle.

From Blue Eagles fans to now ex-teammates and the UAAP community altogether, Amos’ stunner of a transfer drew mixed reactions online.

Adding fuel to the fire was an initial report from SPIN.ph baring how Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin was left blindsided by the transfer after being reassured by Amos himself that such a shock move to Taft wasn’t on the cards.

Less than a day since the news first broke, Ateneo players past and present such as SJ Belangel and his ‘pride’ remark threw subtle jabs aimed at the former Blue Eagle. Most of them even unfollowed Amos on social media platform Instagram in the immediate aftermath of the decision.

One of his Season 86 teammates and senior figures in Geo Chiu took a different route in addressing the issue at hand, citing how although hurt by Amos’ decision, he’d still be of help to him in any way that he can given how the soon-to-be La Salle star is ‘going through a lot right now.’

"As a kuya, aside muna ‘yung pagiging teammate, as a brother, siyempre ako, as much as possible, I try to understand him na lang. Siyempre, he has his reasons for everything. Hindi mo masisisi ‘yung bata eh, kasi maraming factors," Chiu told SPIN.ph.

"For me, alam ko he’s going through so much right now. Ako, bilang kuya, I just try to help him as much as I could with all the things he’s going through right now."

Amos claps back

Such comments were echoed in an Instagram story shared by Amos roughly two days since his La Salle transfer broke cover.

In the image he shared read: "99 percent of people who judge you have no idea what’s going on in your life.

"They don’t know you, they only know a small percent of you. Even the 10 people closest to you don’t know everything about you. They don’t know everything that’s going on in your mind or heart. They don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors."

This was followed by an apparent self-reminder and a loaded hit at those who were quick to lambast his controversial career decision.

"So please, when someone spits hate or criticism, remember: They honestly don’t know you and it’s oftentimes a much bigger reflection on them than you."
