UNDERMANNED TNT TANGLES WITH ANYANG, EYES 1ST WIN IN EASL

An undermanned TNT shoots for its first win when it clashes with the Rhenz Abando-led Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the 2023-24 East Asia Super League home-and-away tournament at the Anyang Gymnasium in Korea.

Game time is 7 p.m.

The Tropang Giga though won't have veteran star Jayson Castro who is out with a hip injury he sustained in his their previous game against the NorthPort Batang Pier last week.

"Jayson is out, he strained his hip flexor last games so he has a doctors appointment (in Manila)," Lastimosa confirmed to The Manila Times.

Other TNT veterans who are listed as probable are Ryan Reyes and big man Kelly Williams.

The Tropang Giga have lost their first three games in the regional tournament, the most recent, a 106-97 loss to the Taipei Fubon Braves in Taiwan.

Their two other defeats came at the hands of the Chiba Jets, 93-75 in Okinawa and a 75-66 decision in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

TNT will be up against Anyang, the reigning Korean Basketball League champion.

Abando is currently in his second season with the Korean squad, which is also reinforced by former Phoenix import Du'Vaugn Maxwell and Daryl Monroe.

The athletic Abando had 17 points and eight rebounds in Anyang's 98-77 rout of Taipei Fubon Braves on October 25.
