FORMER BULLPUPS BROUGHT IN TO AID ARELLANO CHIEFS REBUILDING

ARELLANO has added two guards from NU-Nazareth Bullpups to its roster as it continues to rebuild for the upcoming NCAA Season 100.

Klein Tagotongan and Prince Barraca have moved from Jhocson to Legarda after committing to the Chiefs.

"Masaya kami kasi itong dalawang ito, handang maglaro para sa amin. Kaya gagawin namin ang lahat para matulungan namin silang mag-develop dito sa Arellano," said Arellano coach Chico Manabat.

Arellano is looking to bounce back in the centennial year of the Grand Old League after finishing dead last in the standings with a 2-16 win-loss record.

Tagotongan was a sub who averaged 6.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.6 rebounds in 18 minutes this past UAAP Season 86, but hiked his numbers in the 2024 Smart-NBTC National Finals to 7.5 points and 2.0 rebounds.

Barraca, on the other hand, was the Bullpups’ starting point guard and netted 1.6 points and 1.0 rebound in eight minutes of play before upping his numbers in the NBTC tourney to 6.5 points, 3.0 boards, and 1.5 dimes.

They also represented NU-Nazareth School in the high school 3x3 basketball tournament this past weekend.

Tagotongan and Barraca join their former NU peers at Arellano like Dom Dayrit, who will be playing his second season for the Chiefs. CJ Libang and Renzo Abiera are also eligible to play this season after serving residency.

RV Yanes, a transferee from St. Clare College who previously played for NU-Nazareth School in juniors competition, is also cleared to play this year.
