HARD WORK NEVER STOPS AS KAI SOTTO COMES HOME AFTER B.LEAGUE SEASON

CHICAGO - With the 2023-24 Japan B.League season winding down, the Yokohama Corsairs will play back-to-back road games against the Kawasaki Brave Thunders on May 4 and 5.

Unfortunately for Yokohama, which currently totes a 22-24 won-lost record, they have already been eliminated from the playoffs.

But for Kai Sotto, the hard work never stops. In fact, it only intensifies under the watchful eyes of strength and conditioning coach Mel Lantin.

As soon as his obligations in Japan ends, Sotto is expected to fly back to the Philippines. He will take some brief time off before immersing himself back to training at Fit Twenty One, the sweat shop Lantin owns in Las Pinas, a source told SPIN.ph.

The 7-foot-3 Sotto has shown a marked improvement in his second season in Japan, averaging 12.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1 block per in 31 games of play.

When he was with the Hiroshima Dragonflies, Sotto averaged only 9.5 points and 6.4 rebounds a game, per Proballers.com.

Even though he has now proven himself as a solid rotational player with a very bright future in the B.League, the goal for the 21-year old Filipino phenom is to put together another push to make it to the NBA.

Sotto's management firm, East-West Private (EWP) and  his agent representation, Wasserman Sports are still plotting Kai's next moves as it pertains to participating in NBA summer camps and the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this July.
