MERALCO LIMITS MAGNOLIA TO FRANCHISE LOW FOR ITS FIFTH WIN

MERALCO took its second straight victory by limiting Magnolia to its fewest points in franchise history on its way to a 74-51 victory  in the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup at the Philsports Arena on Sunday.

The Bolts set the tone early by giving up only 21 points in the first half, an effort they maintained until the end to even their record to 5-5 win-loss after their second win in three days. They are now tied at sixth place with Rain or Shine and Terrafirma in the standings.

Meralco frustrated Magnolia once again to become the only team that the Bolts have not lost to this season.

Raymond Almazan powered Meralco to the win with 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Bolts also took advantage of the absence of Jio Jalalon and Calvin Abueva.

Magnolia struggled on offense on its way to surpassing its previous low of 53 it made last May 22, 2005 against Sta. Lucia.
