THIRDY, PARKS SHINE AS TEAMS EXTEND STREAK IN JAPAN B.LEAGUE

PLAYOFF-bound Pinoys continued to build momentum heading into the postseason of 2023-24 Japan B.League after San-En NeoPhoenix and Nagoya Diamond Dolphins earned home victories on Saturday.

Thirdy Ravena chipped in seven points, five rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the NeoPhoenix’s 89-64 rout of Toyama Grouses at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

The Central Conference Champions improved to 45-12 with three games remaining in the eliminations.

Ray Parks, on the other hand, had eight points, five boards, and five assists in the Diamond Dolphins’ 83-77 escape of the Ryukyu Golden Kings at Dolphins Arena.

Nagoya rose to 38-19, boosting its hopes of a home-court advantage.

Kai Sotto also delivered a solid stat line in Yokohama B-Corsairs’ 79-69 win over Shinshu Brave Warriors at White Ring Arena.

He was a menace on the defensive end, recording a season-high four blocks to go with his 18 points, seven rebounds, and one assist to help Yokohama improve to 23-34.

RJ Abarrientos did not play for Shinshu which fell to 9-48.

Matthew Wright’s 27-point night, however, was for naught as Kyoto Hannaryz suffered a heartbreaker to Fighting Eagles Nagoya, 89-87, at Nagoyashi Inae Sports Center. Kyoto dropped to 16-41.
