COLORADO COULD HAVE BREAKOUT STAR IN OHIO STATE RUNNING BACK TRANSFER
It’s not a secret that second-year Colorado head coach Deion Sanders prefers to build his team through the transfer portal instead of via recruiting — the Pro Football Hall of Famer doesn’t even do in-home visits.
It’s made tracking Colorado’s roster confusing at times. It’s also made the Buffs uber-talented.
One of the gems from this year’s haul of transfer portals could be Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden, who might be an upgrade over last year’s running back, Dylan Edwards, who transferred to Kansas State.
From The Denver Post: “Get to know the name. Beyond quarterback Shedeur Sanders and receiver Travis Hunter, no player might end up being more important to CU’s offensive success than Hayden. He profiles as a bellcow running back, the type of downhill runner who puts his foot in the ground, cuts with precision and inflicts punishment on defenders.”
Hayden, 5-foot-10 and 203 pounds, ran for 555 yards and 5 touchdowns as a true freshman at Ohio State in 2022 and averaged 5.0 yards per carry … then was told to take a backseat in 2023, when he only played in 3 games with 19 carries for 119 yards and 1 touchdown.
