CROSSOVERS OVERCOME FIRST SET HICCUP VS. CHAMELEONS TO TAKE 3RD STRAIGHT WIN

MANILA, Philippines: Chery Tiggo heated its engines to prevail over Nxled in a four-set affair, 23-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20, bagging its third consecutive win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday, March 26.

The Crossovers (5-2) overcame a first set blip and owned the remaining sets to hand the Nxled's fifth loss (1-5).

Nxled stood with guts in the first frame as Jhoanna Maraguinot slammed a crosscourt kill to allow the Chameleons to have the advantage, 25-23.

But the Crossovers found their footing in the remaining frames and flicked the Chameleons.

With the Crossovers holding a five-point advantage in the fourth frame, 23-18, Camille Victoria made a costly service error that sent Chery Tiggo to match point, 24-18.

The Nxled tried to trail Chery Tiggo as Ivy Lacsina slammed a through-the-block kill, while Krich Macaslang blocked EJ Laure's attempt, 24-20.

The older Laure went for another try and slammed a crosscourt hit to finish the match, 25-20.

Mylene Paat and Eya Laure scored 15 and 12 points, apiece, courtesy of Alina Bicar's 17 excellent sets and 13 excellent digs.

Lacsina's 20-point outing (her highest so far this conference) was not enough to conquer the gunners of Chery.

Jhoana Maraguinot showed up with 11 points, and also tallied 13 excellent sets and 31 excellent receptions.
