ESPN COMPUTER FORMULA PREDICTS 2024 SEC STANDINGS

College football's best conference will look a lot different in 2024.

The SEC has dominated the college football landscape for the better part of the last two decades, and that dominance has allowed it to add two major programs this season.

Oklahoma and Texas, powerhouses of the Big 12, will join the Southeastern Conference this season, making a great league even better.

This season also marks the debut of the 12-team playoff, giving more teams from the SEC the chance to compete for a national title.

With these changes in mind, ESPN's computer model has predicted the order of finishes in this year's SEC.

Unsurprisingly, Georgia comes in as the odds-on favorite to win the conference.

The Bulldogs have one of the deepest teams in the country, and they may have this year's Heisman winner in quarterback Carson Beck.

The same can be said for the team with the second-best chance, Texas. Quinn Ewers has returned for another year, and if he can stay healthy, Texas could find themselves back in the College Football Playoff.

Alabama, with new head coach Kalen DeBoer comes in third. The Tide also has a Heisman candidate in Jalen Milroe, but it will be interesting to see how they deal with a first-year head coach following Nick Saban's retirement.

Ole Miss comes in at No. 4 in the conference, and they're the final team with more than a 10% chance to win the league, according to ESPN's Football Power Index.

  1. Georgia
  2. Texas
  3. Alabama
  4. Ole Miss
  5. LSU
  6. Missouri
  7. Texas A&M
  8. Oklahoma
  9. Tennessee
  10. Kentucky
  11. Auburn
  12. Florida
  13. South Carolina
  14. Arkansas
  15. Mississippi State
  16. Vanderbilt

Oklahoma is among the long shots in their first year in the SEC, coming in with a 2.8% chance to win the league.

They'll be starting a highly-touted but inexperienced quarterback in Jackson Arnold after Dillon Gabriel's move to Oregon in the transfer portal.

Teams like LSU, Tennessee and Missouri will also likely enter the season ranked with a chance to disrupt the hierarchy at the top of the conference.

The team with the lowest chance to win the league? A tie between Mississippi State and Vanderbilt, who each have less than a 0.1% chance to take home the conference title in Atlanta at the end of the year.

We'll see how things turn out, but we should expect an interesting season of football in the new-look SEC.
