FORMER IOWA OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR LANDS NEW COLLEGE JOB

Much-maligned former Iowa offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz has landed a new job in college football.

Ferentz is joining the Maryland coaching staff as an offensive analyst, according to Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. Ferentz has coached virtually every offensive position during his career and will serve in a background role for the Terps.

Ferentz will probably have little impact on how Maryland performs, but Terps fans will hate it anyway. Under his guidance, the Iowa offense was completely inept, to the point that the Hawkeyes added a truly pitiful clause into his contract before last season. Amazingly, Ferentz was unable to hit his target, though his players seemed to like him right up until the end.

The son of longtime Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz, Brian has also spent time working under Bill Belichick with the New England Patriots. He does bring plenty of experience, though his reputation among fans could hardly be worse.
