IVY LACSINA CLOSES CONFERENCE DASHING WITH CAREER-HIGH 28 POINTS

MANILA, Philippines: Nxled's prized acquisition Ivy Lacsina goes out in style after posting a new career-high of 28 points to close her Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference.

Lacsina's 28 points were built on 21 attacks, four blocks, and three aces, and she also displayed her defensive side with eight excellent digs, and nine excellent receptions in a tight four-set loss against Petro Gazz, 25-22, 23-25, 23-25, 22-25, last Saturday, April 27.

The Angels had a taste of "Poison Ivy" as the six-foot opposite hitter fired early in the first set to take the early advantage. However, the championship contender team Petro Gazz successfully outsmarted the young Nxled squad in the remaining frames to emerge victorious.

Lacsina shared how she is glad to finish the conference on a high as she led the scoring for Nxled in their final game.

"Of course, I am happy, I can see myself that I am part of Nxled and all that I did inside the court was from coach Taka's (Minowa) advice and of course from our other coaches. I am grateful since the help of our coaches helps me to show more of what I can do, and how I can improve as a player," Lacsina told the press.

"I know that there are a lot of things that I still need to improve, and us as a team, but I know that we can achieve our goal. We can do this one step at a time."

The former National University stalwart also shared that one of her goals is to play overseas and she is in the process of improving her game.

"I know that I am far from what I used to be before, but I am still far from achieving my dreams. I will use every opportunity to listen to my teammates and coaches."

Nxled finished the conference with a 4-7 win-loss card, the same win-loss tally in their 2023 2nd All-Filipino Conference where they also finished ninth.

For Lacsina, this is still a long process ahead for Nxled but she believes that her squad is bound for greater heights.

"I am happy to be with Nxled, we all know each other and we learn from each other. My first conference with them is something that I would treasure since this is where we started, and this is where we build our foundation."
