MACANDILI GLAD TO SEE FORMER F2 TEAMMATES MAKE IT TO SEMIS

MANILA, Philippines: The F2 sisterhood is alive as Dawn Macandili-Catindig roots for her former teammates in the semifinals.

With Cignal falling short of making it to the next round with a 7-4 win-loss slate, the former F2 Logistics Cargo Movers libero shared how she is happy to see some of her former teammates in the playoffs.

"Of course, I am happy for them. I know how badly they wanted to make it to semis, of course, we [Cignal] also wanted too, but it is all about team effort. I am happy that they did their part on their team, and I am rooting for them," Macandili-Catindig told the press.

The former F2 players who will move to the semifinals are: Chery Tiggo's Aby Maraño and Ara Galang, Petro Gazz's Mary Joy Dacoron, and Choco Mucho's Mars Alba.

Macandili-Catindig took care of the HD Spikers floor defense after finishing the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference with a total of 192 excellent digs and 108 excellent receptions (ranking second in the best digger and ranking first in the best receiver category).

The 2022 PVL Open Conference Best Libero also shared how she easily adjusted to her new home.

"Actually, coming to this team I only made minimal adjustments in my routine and in my preparation before the game. The system of coach Shaq (Delos Santos) is not that different from my previous team, and I also did not struggle to fit in," she said.

Team captain Ces Molina also commended Macandili-Catindig's performance throughout the conference.

"Even though we fell short, we are very proud of Dawn. You saw her performance and we take responsibility on why we are in this situation. With the addition of Dawn and Jov (Gonzaga), we are so happy that they are here, and we gained more confidence knowing that Dawn is on our side," Molina said.

Catindig-Macandili played for F2 from 2016-2023 and moved to Cignal after F2's disbandment.
