SAVI GLAD PLDT ENDS CONFERENCE STRONG

THE PLDT High Speed Hitters made sure to make a statement to close their Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference after winning for the first time against the defending champion Creamline.

Before PLDT's match against Creamline, the High Speed Hitters were faced with the reality that they were no longer in the semis race.

But this would not stop the High Speed Hitters from finishing their conference strong, especially for PLDT's go-to hitter Savi Davison.

Davison made a double-double performance of 27 points (25 attacks, a block and an ace) and also tallied 15 excellent receptions.

With this four set victory against the defending champion, 22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 27-25, Davison shared that she is glad how her team pulled through this conference.

"I think that we accomplished a lot, regardless if you don't break the record. If you win, you win, right? So I think, coming off from that you have to cherish every small wins, but I won't say that this is a small win, just the wins that you have since it feeds you. If you don't recognize the win that you have or the progress that you do make, you will never kind of reach your goal," Davison told The Manila Times.

PLDT was short by one point to make it to the next round after a loss against Cignal that put them in an undesirable position (8-3, 23 points), while Creamline ended the preliminaries with the same win-loss card with 24 points.

The other semifinalists are Choco Mucho (9-2, 26 points), Chery Tiggo (9-2, 25 points) and Petro Gazz (8-2, 25 points).

For Davison, the High Speed Hitters' triumph against the two big teams Choco Mucho and Creamline says a lot about what the team can accomplish in the next conference.

"You know, by me, our leaders keeping our heads high, it shows that we got so much more that we can accomplish and work on. I think just in itself [beating] Choco, Creamline, but I know we lost to Cignal," Davison said while taking a deep breath. "But yeah, right there, that is the motivation, I think knowing that we can do better is the motivation itself."

PLDT eyes the return of Kianna Dy and Mika Reyes in the next PVL conference after being sidelined due to their injury.
